Conduct Advocates are trained members of the college community who are available for students to assist them through the conduct process. Advocates provided by the college are free of charge. A student has the right to a Conduct Advocate from the college should they choose. Students have the right to bring any advocate of their choosing, however, if it may be at their own expense.
Conduct Advocates do not serve as legal counsel, and do not have the ability to address members of a College Hearing Board on behalf of their student. Advocates are meant to be a support and guidance system for student in the conduct process. More information about the role of a Conduct Advocate can be found in the Buffalo State College Code of Student Rights, Freedoms and Responsibilities.
Should a student request an advocate the Office of Conduct and Community Standards will assign one, or a student may contact an advocate on their own.
