In preparation for a safe spring break, Weigel Health Promotions will host a training session on Narcan (naloxone) opiate overdose prevention. The session is designed to provide students with the tools and information they need to prevent harm to themselves or others.
This training is open to all students, faculty, and staff. Registration is encouraged; each participant is provided with a kit upon completion. Please contact Paula Madrigal, wellness and prevention coordinator, ext. 4719, if you plan to attend or send students from a class or group.
Opiate (heroin) overdose has been in the news recently. Last year, Weigel Health Promotions partnered withHorizon Health Services to offer trainings at least twice each semester. We can also schedule trainings for groups or classes upon request.
To learn more, view this brief video of a past training session (kits are now intranasal).
