The federal CARES Act provides approximately $5 million toward Buffalo State College students. Students must apply for funding in their Banner account once the application is available. We anticipate the application will be available by the beginning of June (IT is diligently working on this important task). Students that have experienced financial hardship as a result of transitioning to online learning are encouraged to submit an application if they meet the eligibility requirements.
The maximum 19-20 CARES Emergency Fund award per student is $6,195. However, in an effort to help as many needy students as possible that were impacted by the COVID-19 disruption, the CARES Workgroup will determine the final award amount per student.
