The generosity of our campus is greatly appreciated by all those involved, especially by our students in need. Donations are graciously accepted at the Dean of Students Office, Monday – Friday, from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm. We encourage student groups, departments, etc. to collaborate and collect items to donate. Please be mindful of expiration dates as we cannot hand out expired food.
In addition, monetary donations are welcomed. Donors should forward their monetary gifts directly to Claire Collier, Donor Relations Officer, Institutional Advancement in CLEV 304. The donations will then be deposited into the Milligan’s Food Pantry Buffalo State University Foundation Account for future food and supply purchases. Checks should be made out to: Milligan's Food Pantry.
Please contact deanofstudents@buffalostate.edu for more information.
Milligan’s Food Pantry, located in the Campbell Student Union, gives currently enrolled students convenient access to nourishing foods, both perishable and nonperishable, as well as laundry detergent and hygiene products.
Take it from one Milligan’s patron, a senior in the School of Professions, with a 3.51 GPA, zero student loan debt, and an on-campus job:
“I am fortunate and blessed to be to participate in programs for which I am grateful for especially Milligan's food pantry and to receive the support of the wonderful Dean of Students staff. They actually care and take their time to help students. It shows in their actions, by the drastic measures that they have gone through to help students like myself. My current situation is not one I am proud of, or one I am comfortable with, despite this concern, Milligan's food pantry is aware of these feelings and allows students to remain discreet while still managing to build awareness for students like myself; to be aware of the resources that are offered. I applied for public assistance earlier this semester, with the hopes of getting help with my daily living but I was unfortunately denied. Milligan's food pantry stepped in and has been playing a major role in assisting me to not go hungry, have clean hygiene, and have fewer worries. I can honestly say this year would have been harder for me to concentrate and pursue my education on a hungry stomach and wondering how I would get by.”
When you give to Milligan’s Food Pantry, the impact of your giving is exponential. Your donations provide a meal when there is none and hygiene when there aren’t the funds to make it a priority. You can be assured that your gift increases a student’s confidence, wellbeing, and peace of mind, and truly helps students persist to graduation.
